Welcome to Arts Release Studios

God has been moving, calling artists in both professional and recreational forms to create beauty for connection, meditation, healing, freedom, and ultimately to bring Him praise.

Global Creative Studio Days are hosted by Arts Release and a community of Christians from all walks of life with virtual and physical studios that meet in Australia, France, New Zealand, Singapore, Romania, South Africa and the United Kingdom, welcoming creatives from further afield. We welcome you to days of using creativity, in its many forms.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord's name be praised!”

Save the Date!
Our online Global Creative Studio Day 2024 on the theme REVEAL - Re:Story Re:Make Re:Connect will take place across multiple time zones over the weekend of 5th October.

As in previous years, GCSD 2024 will be an exciting mix of creative workshops, inspirational talks, Bible meditation, worship and performances. Details of the full programme will be posted on this website nearer the time.

This year, we are encouraging creatives to respond to the theme and subthemes in the months leading up to 5th October. Each month there will be a call-out to submit images, poems, songs, dance, drama etc. responding to a prompt and Bible verses. These may be found here on Instagram or Facebook @arts.release.studios

We invite you to post images or videos and explanation on social media using the hashtag #artsreleasestudios to share how you have responded creatively to the themes and for a chance to win free tickets to the Global Creative Studio Day on 5 October.

Open to all! (Not only attendees of Arts Release creative studios).

Global Creative Studios Programme 2024

GCSD 2024 REVEAL. Re:Story, Re:Make, Re:Connect
There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.  (Daniel 2:28)

  • The arts as prophetic, revealing truths and bringing attention to the unseen.
  • The arts communicating God’s word in fresh relatable ways.
  • The arts revealing injustices.
  • The arts for healing.

Subtheme 1.     Re:Story February, March, April 2024

Some suggestions to take inspiration from:
  • The numerous accounts of people in the Bible whose lives were ‘restoried’ through encounters with God or God’s people (Sarah, Jacob, Joseph, Gideon, Rahab, Hannah, Peter, Mary Magdalene and so on).
  • Retelling Biblical stories in new ways.
  • God’s story of redemption understood through the Biblical narrative of Creation, Fall, Sacrifice, New Creation.
  • Jesus’s parables and modern parables that reveal truth.
  • Ways the artist's/author’s own life has been ‘re-storied’.
  • The ‘Re-storying’ of our imaginations.
