Revealing my marks

with Sarah Grace Dye

‘We are fearfully and wonderfully made’, and given our own unique creative mark. No two people have the same signature, the same goes for drawing marks. I would be honoured to help you reveal your own marks. Through experimental drawing using a range of materials from prompts through music and words we will explore our unique marks. Using the sheets of marks we make together, we will re:make them into one or more artists' books to showcase our drawings and help us to see our unique marks more clearly.
No experience necessary.
I am a visual artist who collects objects and ephemera along with a plethora of related stories, some true, some imagined narrative. My practice is about documenting, recording, collecting and sharing these stories through drawing and creating artist’s books. Through the process and practice of playing, I explore these objects and their associated memories. I work with paper, collage, ink, watercolour & stitch. The ritual of drinking tea is also a necessary part of each day.

I firmly believe that everyone IS creative. I am on a mission to provide space for that discovery for beginners to professionals, we all have something to learn.

Session time(s)

(1 hour 45 minutes), (1 hour 45 minutes)

Special Requirements

A selection from this list but not everything is necessary.

Pencil, pen, wax crayon, pastel, charcoal, chalk, coloured pencils, ink, black tea/coffee, brushes (thick and thin), sticks, feathers, wax candle, felt tips, ball point pens, really anything that will make a mark on paper.

Some dry materials and at least one wet material (this could be black tea and your fingers!). A range of colours would be useful but also not essential.

Several sheets of paper from brown paper bags and packaging,  the inside of cereal boxes or envelopes to plain wallpaper or cartridge paper whatever you have. Some of it will need to be able to hold wet materials without disintegrating.

Scissors or a craft knife and some tape or glue.

I would rather people use what they have to hand instead of buying new things.
