Story Writer Seminar + Q&A

with Chris Aslan

Jesus continues to be the most influential person in history, and people continue to write stories about him. Bestsellers, such as the Chronicles of Narnia, were written to promote Jesus, whilst other books, such as His Dark Materials, and other books by Philip Pullman, were written to deliberately undermine Jesus. Some of the best authors of Christian fiction are barely known within the Christian subculture, which has also influenced conspiracy movements such as Q-Anon. Stories have tremendous power, for both good and ill. We’ll explore some of these Jesus Stories with veteran author and writer, Chris Aslan, with plenty of time for discussion, and Q&A.
Chris Aslan was born in Turkey and raised there and in Lebanon. He spent his teenage years in the UK and half of his adult life living in Central Asia. He will draw on his own experiences of crafting fiction about Jesus. Chris has written non-fiction and fiction, including:
  • The Alabaster series
  • A Carpet Ride To Khiva - 'Enjoyable account of the seven years the author spent in the remote desert oasis of Khiva, Uzbekistan.' Bookseller
  • Unravelling the Silk Road: Travels and textiles in Central Asia
