Whole Brain Worship with Dr. Beth Argot God created people to know and love him with all our "heart, soul, mind, and strength", but our current theological approach to God is focused primarily toward the “mind.” Firstly, during this session, Dr Beth Argot will delve into how God created our brains to interact with him and explore interactive ways to know and worship God more fully using the arts. Then Lindsey will facilitate a time of meditation on scripture. There will be time for participants to respond to the scripture using the arts, followed by an opportunity to share those creative responses in small groups. Beth Argot serves with Artists in Christian Testimony, teaching at Dallas International University where she also serves as the Arts and Trauma Healing (ATH) Director and Associate Director for the Center for Excellence in World Arts. She is an ATH Master Facilitator and received the Global Trauma Recovery Institute, and Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy [EXAT]. Beth recently received several grants for her cross disciplinary research in historical worship practices, investigating parallels of worship and arts with trauma healing practices. Beth teaches globally at universities and seminaries and also leads Arts & Trauma healing workshops in cross-cultural communities. Session time(s) Loading...
